Congratulations Mia Degumois – Barwon Woman of the Year
Member for Barwon, Roy Butler has expressed his delight at announcing Mia Degoumois of Packsaddle as the 2020 Barwon Local Woman of the Year.
The Award is presented as part of the annual Women of the Year Awards. These annual awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by women across NSW to industry, communities and society.
“Mia is the centre of the Packsaddle community; she wears so many hats in the community that I am likely to leave off one or two. She’s a volunteer with the SES, NSW Ambulance, the RFS and rallies the town to organise many community events,” said Mr Butler.
“Mia gives selflessly to her community and that selfless contribution deserves recognition. She gives her time not for accolades like today, but because she’s genuinely a wonderful person.
“People like Mia keep small communities together and help to make regional communities better places to live”.
All Local Women of the Year entries are forwarded to the Honours Secretariat for consideration in the Australian of the Year Awards.
