Wee Waa Health Service Survey

Thanks for your interest in the Implementation Plan to return full services at Wee Waa Health Service.

 

This plan has been developed with consideration given to the recommendations of the Independent Review into Wee Waa Health Service.

 

The goal is to return a 24/7 Emergency Department with on-site doctors to Wee Waa Health Service.

 

One of the major obstacles is recruitment and retention of doctors and nurses. To address this, Hunter New England Health is working to improve management at Wee Waa Health Service. They will also be introducing a Single Service Model for Narrabri Hospital and Wee Waa Health Service. The Single Service Model gives doctors and nurses a wider range of cases to treat, which helps their career progression and makes recruitment easier.

 

This plan will be rolled out in stages as more staff are recruited to the region.
