Since being elected Member for Barwon, I have offered a consistent message right across the electorate that water laws must be obeyed. When water laws are disobeyed, someone else is disadvantaged.

The drought that we all have endured has placed a huge amount of stress on farmers and townspeople up and down the river. My interest in ensuring that everyone is certain of a fair process includes reporting the activities of the Office of Environment and Heritage as Managers of the Toorale Station to the Natural Resource Access Regulator.

The Office of Environment and Heritage is currently under investigation regarding their diversions of water from the Warrego River onto the Western floodplain. All water diversions regulated under the Water Management Act 2000 must be measured and within license limits.
