Seniors provide invaluable skills and help our community thrive in so many ways.

I’m calling on people in Barwon who know a remarkable senior to nominate them for the 2020 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.

These awards are a chance to recognise the contribution seniors make to our communities.

This year in Barwon we’ll be recognising our senior volunteers – those selfless individuals who donate their time, energy and efforts to volunteering in our communities. Any and all volunteers are eligible, whether they commit their time to an organisation, knit clothes for premature babies or drive the local footy team bus.

I’m looking forward to celebrating these individuals at morning teas in Narrabri, Cobar and Broken Hill in the coming months as part of the NSW Seniors Festival.

Nominations close on Wednesday 12 February.
